So what caused your bitter resentment against religion then? And why have you gone the wordpress route ?

I’m dismayed rather than bitter, dismayed that the society in which I live is still refusing to unequivocally place secularism at its centre.
If the dictates and preachings of religion didn’t vie with human rights and secular principles, I’d comment on them about as frequently as I blog about fairy tales, legends, old wives tales, and the like.
As for Wordpress, when I moved my personal hosting to Webfaction, I thought I’d use the change as an excuse to re-write my blog using CakePHP (a PHP Rails clone), simply in order to try out and evaluate that framework. Time constraints caused me to abandon that idea and seeing that WebFaction had one-click installers for WordPress I thought I’d give the World’s favourite, self-installable blogging tool a whirl.
I’m on my second update now, but as nice as Wordpress is in many ways, I’m not finding it as satisfying as I’d hoped - and I may soon re-instate my old, home-spun PHP blog, or else take a completely different approach that won’t involve using PHP at all…
